Abstract
This report presents a Review of ESSPIN Water and Sanitation provisions under the ESSPIN Project which involved a short visit to Ilorin, to comment on the design and construction of new school latrines. The review showed that the latrines were well designed, constructed and fit for purpose.

This is an assessment of the impact of ESSPIN communication materials on the general public and her stakeholders in six focal states in Nigeria. Findings show that the materials were impactful and have engendered desired positive change in attitude and behaviour towards provision of basic education among the target audience.

Nigeria participated in the UNESCO-UNICEF Monitoring Learning Achievement (MLA) project in 1996 and 2003. To the extent that the results were comparable between Nigeria and other African countries, the performance of Nigerian students was the weakest in the continent.
