Policy review and development

Education policies are essential for stakeholders’ shared responsibility to create the enabling framework and mechanisms for determining desired results and sustaining collaboration and coordination of actions to achieve them. At both federal and state levels, ESSPIN supported government-led inclusive and participatory evidence-based policy review and development processes involving all major stakeholders. This is to facilitate shared responsibility and coordinated actions of all stakeholders to address challenges in specific areas impacting on quality basic education provision. The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) was supported to led the review of National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) policy and the development of National Policies on Inclusive Education (IE), School-Based Management (SBM), Quality Assurance, and Draft Policy and Implementation Framework for National Monitoring of Learning Achievement (MLA). The six programme states were supported to develop state-specific SBM and IE policies.
