Jigawa SUBEB Undergoes Strategic Visioning
In its efforts to provide quality basic education to children in primary and junior secondary schools in Jigawa, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has embarked on a strategic visioning process to strengthen its capacity.A two-day workshop held on 10 and 11 February, 2010 on the visioning exercise examined the real situations of SUBEB Jigawa’s internal and external environments. Through this exercise, the Board identified its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It also provided a platform for the Board to re-evaluate its organisational values and goals as well as prioritise critical issues.
At the end of the exercise, a draft vision and mission statements for Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board was developed and is subject to endorsement by the authorities concerned.
The workshop, supported by ESSPIN, combined interactive sessions on various aspect of planning steps and processes. It was attended by 28 senior and management staff of the SUBEB including the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Gumel and Permanent board members with two representatives from Local Government Education Secretaries forum of Jigawa State.
