Welcome to ESSPIN

ESSPIN is a partnership between the Nigerian Government and the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID). The six-year programme (2008 – 2014) supports Federal and State governments – Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kwara and Lagos initially with Enugu added in 2010 – to develop effective planning, financing and delivery systems that will improve the quality of basic education.

ESSPIN works closely with other DFID-funded State Level Programmes (SLPs). It builds on DFID’s Capacity for Universal Basic Education Project and the Girls Education Project and works alongside the World Bank State Education Sector Project.

"Our Vision is to support Nigeria in accessing and managing its own resources to create a sustainable and deliverable education system that is equally beneficial to all."
